This year’s Blackberry Jam features a special spoken word segment. Authors and co-editors of the anthology Gathering: Writers of Williamson County, Currie Alexander Powers and Kathy Hardy Rhodes will be “performing” a piece from the book, as well as reading selections. They will be joined by authors, Susie Dunham, Chance Chambers, and Colleen Speroff. Dunham and Chambers are also contributing authors to Gathering, which is a celebrated collection of the works of the some of the best and brightest authors from Williamson and Davidson Counties. Powers is the author of the novel Soul of a Man and a contributing writer for Nashville Arts Magazine. Rhodes is the author of Pink Butterbeans, editor of the online journal Muscadine Lines:A Southern Journal, and Senior Writer/Editor of TurnStyle Writing, Editing & Publishing Solutions. Dunham, former columnist for the Grassland Gazette, is a short story writer, as is Speroff. Chambers is an award-winning poet and will be bringing his guitar along for the show. A booksigning will follow the reading.
